Terrifying moment husband who wanted to be Brazil's first suicide bomber pours fuel over judge and threatens to torch her if she doesn't clear him of assaulting his wife

This is the terrifying moment a husband pours fuel over a Brazilian judge and threatens to burn her to death if she doesn't declare him innocent of assaulting his wife.

Dramatic footage shows the judge being pinned to the ground at a court in the west of São Paulo in Brazil as the man threatened to spark a lighter in his hand.

José dos Santos, 36, the furious defendant, grabbed Judge Tatiane Moreira Lima and took her hostage moments before his domestic abuse court case was about to begin.

The terrifying incident lasted for 20 minutes in Butantã Court House and was filmed by a police officer.

It has emerged that Santos intended to become Brazil's first suicide bomber and was carrying a Molotov cocktail in his backpack.

Santos had a hearing scheduled for yesterday following a domestic violence incident against his wife. 

He arrived at the courthouse at 1.30pm and upon entering the building, he started a small fire at the entrance, managing to evade the shots of a security officer before storming the Judge's office and grabbing her around the throat, then pouring gasoline over her. 

According to reports, Santos bore a long-term grudge against Judge Lima who convicted him of domestic violence in 2013.

Kneeling on top of his victim he makes it clear he has come to declare his innocence and the judge should change her decision and pronounce him not guilty, because he is not 'a violent man.'

In the opening shots, Santos, at first calmly asks the officer if he is 'filming him' as instructed and to put it on television.

'Easy, easy, easy. Calm down, dammit! I want to help you, put it down!' pleads the officer.

'I want the TV here, now' demands Santos.

'Yeah they're coming,' the officer responds.

Then in an increasingly agitated state the deranged hostage taker turns his menacing attention to the judge and shouts to tell everyone he is not crazy.

'Speak to them loudly. Am I crazy?' he rants.

'Wait a minute, say it three more times' demands Santos as he bends over the judge and shouts in her face while keeping an eye on the police officers keeping their distance but waiting to pounce on him at the door.

Repeating 'you're not crazy', the judge it then yelled at again by Santos as he insists she tells everyone he is 'not guilty'.

'Am I guilty of a crime? ' he screams. While the judge replies: 'No, no crime.' Officers urge Santos to remain calm.

Then calling the officer who is filming closer and with his face almost pressed up against the screen, echoing manic scenes from Jack Nicholson's legendary film 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo Nest', Santos talks closely to the camera while speaking to his daughter on the phone.

'Diane, your father loves you and I will show you the truth,' he says. 'I am not a scoundrel your father is innocent.'

He then instructs the policeman to film the judge on the floor as she repeats to his daughter that he is innocent. The upsetting images show the terrified woman with tears in her eyes as she is forced to say the words 'Your father is innocent' several times.

'Tell her what your position is in this institution,' demands Santos. 

'I am a judge,' she cries in fear.

There is a standoff for a few minutes as the officers bide their time ready to launch their attack to save the judge.

Convinced the TV cameras are coming, the officers keep Santos talking, assuring him everything is being filmed.

Then in a fraction of a moment of distraction by Santos, police launch an unexpected attack immobilising him by spraying firefighting foam at close range over both individuals.

In the mayhem, the footage shows Judge Lima being dragged up by the arms and pulled away swiftly to safety. In the meantime, several officers leap on the crazed would be 'suicide bomber', as he rants 'I am innocent.'

The aggressor is quickly overcome and handcuffed. This is when officers discover his real intentions as his backpack is stocked with more flammable liquid, a homemade bomb and his toy dinosaur.

According to the Sao Paulo's public security department the suspect has been released from hospital after his arrest and transferred into medical care. He will undergo medical examinations and will be transferred to a holding prison once these are completed as part of the police investigation.

A badly shaken Judge Lima was taken to Sao Paulo's Albert Einstein Hospital for check-up and released later the same day. She is said to have suffered no physical injuries but remains traumatised from the incident.

I believe that Alfredo Jose dos Santos's daughter, Diane, will finally find out that her father was a crazy man, a violent man, guilty of crime of threatening people to do unwilling thing, and guilty of committing self-killing/ suicide killing in public place after she watch the video/footage recorded lively at the incident site... Furiously said that it should not happened, and the man need to control anger despite of desperate emotional fluctuation.
