Lim Guan Eng, who once declared himself is a Malaysian as his answer for a China journalist's question during 12 May press conference, need to remember that he himself is now Malaysian Minister of Finance. Therefore, as the leader of that ministry, he need to use bahasa Melayu baku (or bahasa Malaysia) as official language or English (in case of international press conference) to publicise his official standing and decision. The other languages like Mandarin, Tamil, Sabahan and Sarawakian languages are allowed to be used by respective stuffs to translate and further circulate the Minister's statement. I support multilingualism in Malaysia, but with Malay as core/central language as Malaya, Sarawak and Sabah are located in the Old World where there were significant cultural linguistic practice had existed before colonialism took place.
